Indian skipper Virat Kohli reveals the secret behind his dance moves on the field against West Indies

Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers across the globe, but even he does get tired sometimes when the conditions are tough to play like it was at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on Sunday.

Though the weather was hot and humid, Kohli still managed to score 120 runs off 125 deliveries and spent 179 minutes at the crease. During the Windies chase, he came back to the field and took a stunning one-handed stunner to dismiss Evin Lewis.

It was an all-round effort from the skipper which helped India beat West Indies by 59 runs (DLS method) in the second ODI and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

After the match, Kohli made a special appearance on ‘Chahal TV’ in which he revealed the secret behind his performance in the severe weather conditions.

“It was very challenging because it had rained earlier in the day. That is why it was even more humid today.

“My mindset has always been simple. I want to contribute in any way possible for the team. Be it catches or run outs, I want to do it all. Every player should adopt their lifestyle and discipline in such a way that they are able to give their 100 percent on the field.

“If you don’t give it your all on the field then you are not doing justice to the team. I have changed my lifestyle, training, and diet in such a way that I am able to contribute in any way possible for the team, even in tough weather conditions. It all helps on such days when the conditions are tough. These small things help a lot,” Kohli told Yuzvendra Chahal.

“I was completely exhausted after reaching 60-65, honestly. But the situation was such that I had to continue playing the way I was. As a cricketer, we should always realize that if you are thinking about the team, then all the tiredness and exhaustion go away.

“It was very challenging because it had rained earlier in the day. That is why it was even more humid today,” Kohli added.

Chahal finally asked Kohli about his dance moves on the field during the first ODI, and the Indian talisman gave a candid response.

“I am enjoying myself on the field. Even if I am a captain, I don’t believe in acting in a certain way. God has given me such a great life and an opportunity to represent my team. I believe in enjoying the moment. I am in a good space in my life, and that is why I shake a leg whenever there is music.

“Bhangra has always been special but if there is groovy music then the moves naturally because intentions are always good,” Kohli signed off.
