Dwayne Bravo and others congratulate Kieron Pollard on becoming West Indies ODI and T20I captain

Former Windies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and India’s T20 specialist Krunal Pandya congratulated Kieron Pollard on becoming the new captain of West Indies for the white-ball cricket.

On Monday, Pollard was announced as the Windies’ skipper and he will be taking over the ODI and T20I duties from Jason Holder and Carlos Brathwaite respectively. He took over the captaincy despite not having played an ODI since October 2016.

Bravo posted a picture on Instagram and wrote “Congratulations my friend @kieron.pollard55 on being appointed WI captain, you deserve it and u will be a great leader hopefully I can finally get back in WI colours again #Champion,” as the caption.

Pollard made his debut in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 and has played 101 ODI games since then. He has built up a reputation of a big hitter in the shortest format of the game.

The 32-year-old was the part of the West Indies’ T20 World Cup-winning campaign in 2012 and 2016.
