Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab is searching for a new head coach after having earlier moved on from Mike Hesson.
After another dismal season in the IPL last year, KXIP will look to resurrect their form in the upcoming 13th edition of the tournament.
According to a recent report in Mumbai Mirror, the Bollywood actress Preity Zinta co-owned outfit has shortlisted four candidates for the head coach post. And it has also been revealed that former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey is their first choice.
Besides Hussey, the franchise has also shortlisted the likes of Andy Flower, Darren Lehman, and George Bailey.
Bailey also captained the Punjab side in the IPL back in 2014; therefore, his earlier connection with the franchise could make him the second choice for the head coach role.
Earlier, former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson brought an end to his association with KXIP to become Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) team director.
Changes have been pretty consistent at KXIP, with franchise developing a stature as one of the busiest outfits in the auctions every year. It could be the same case this time as well, although it isn’t just the players’ roster that the team will be making changes with.
