Jasprit Bumrah opens about his childhood inspirations and his love for milkshakes

West Indies vs India, 2nd Test: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is on a roll as he picked up his first maiden hat-trick in Test cricket.

During a recent interview with the Windies legend, Ian Bishop, Bumrah shared his feelings after achieving this feat.

I always wanted to play Test cricket, and whenever I have achieved something in Test cricket, it gives me a lot of satisfaction because everything over here is hard-earned. You have to work really hard; a lot of preparation goes in. So each and every wicket is very valuable, so achieve something (Test hat-trick) in Test cricket is very valuable,” told Bumrah.

Bumrah also talked about the players who inspired him during his childhood to become a fast bowler.

See, for me, as a child; I used to watch a lot of television. I used to watch a lot of Test cricket. So over there I used to follow a lot of fast bowlers from any team, be it Australia, any other team. So, use to watch fast bowlers, I use to love watching that. I use to enjoy them that they are intimidating the batsman, they are bowling fast, they are taking wickets. That use to excite me. So, I always wanted to try and be like them, trying to copy them. So yeah, really happy that now I am playing Test cricket and probably continue to do the same thing.

Jasprit also expressed his love for milkshakes and how he managed his diet during the Test tours.

Yes, because we pay a lot of importance to everything, so we train well, we try to keep our diet well as well. But, in Test matches some times you can afford to have cheat days, so that was the time after finishing the whole tour (South African tour), we went out, and we had a milkshake. But that was a heavenly feeling.
