JP Duminy slams the fastest fifty in CPL T20 history

JP Duminy slammed a 15-ball half-century – the fastest in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) – as Barbados Tridents defeated defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders by 63 runs on Thursday (September 26).

Duminy was all over the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. His 20-ball 65, comprising six fours and seven sixes, made for an exceptional strike-rate of 325 and helped Tridents post 192/5, with Johnson Charles (58 off 39) and Jonathan Carter (51 off 46) both scoring half-centuries as well.

Knight Riders were then bundled out for 129 in 17.4 overs, thanks to Hayden Walsh, who returned with incredible bowling figures of 5/19, including the big wickets of Denesh Ramdin, Kieron Pollard, and Jimmy Neesham.

Duminy also played a significant role in the second innings. He first took a stunning catch to help Raymon Reifer dismiss Colin Munro, and then returned 2/24 in 2.4 overs, including the final wicket of Ali Khan that secured Tridents’ first win at home this season.

Brief Scores:

Barbados Tridents 192 for 5 (Duminy 65, Charles 58, Carter 51, Pierre 2-24) beat Trinbago Knight Riders 129 (Bravo 28, Walsh 5-19, Duminy 2-24) by 63 runs.
