Former Indian opener, Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as of the greatest batsman in the history of cricket. Back in July, Sachin was inducted into the International Cricket Council’s Hall of Fame.
On Teachers Day, the 46-years-old Tendulkar paid tribute to his mentor and coach Ramakant Achrekar. Apart from Sachin, Achrekar also coached big names like Ajit Agarkar, Vinod Kambhi, and Ramesh Powar.
Achrekar passed away on 2nd January 2019, due to old-age ailments. Sachin and other cricketers were present at his funeral.
“Teachers impart not just education but also values. Achrekar Sir taught me to play straight – on the field and in life. I shall always remain grateful to him for his immeasurable contribution in my life. His lessons continue to guide me today. #TeachersDay,” tweeted Sachin.

Whatever you are today, it's because of the teachings that you collect on the way. This game has been my biggest teacher and has taught me a lot, from putting in efforts to patience. Wishing everyone a very happy #TeachersDay! pic.twitter.com/5iEPK1vGvf
