Twitter lauds Hanuma Vihari as he scores his maiden Test century against West Indies

Indian middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari scored his maiden Test century during the second Test against West Indies at Sabina Pak in Kingston on Saturday.

Hanuma came in to bat after Ajinkya Rahane’s dismissal on the first day and remained unbeaten on 42 at the close of play. Despite losing Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja early on the morning of the second day, Vihari added a 122-run stand for the eighth-wicket with Ishant Sharma as India posted a commanding score of 416 in their first innings.

Later in the day, Jasprit Bumrah (6/16) produced a lethal opening spell and dismantled the hosts by picking up the first five wickets. Three of these wickets came off successive deliveries in the ninth over to leave West Indies tottering at 87 for seven at stumps.
