On Monday, Mohammad Nabi bid farewell to the longest format of the game on a winning note after Afghanistan thrashed Bangladesh by 224 runs in the one-off Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Nabi had already announced his retirement from Test cricket on September 6, a day after the match started.
After the match, Afghanistan players made the moment special for their former skipper by giving him a ‘Guard of Honour’ near the sidelines.
Afghanistan went the extra mile to make sure @MohammadNabi007 will take back fond memories from his final day as a Test cricketer 👏 #BANvAFG pic.twitter.com/shrttJ6vJp

Afghanistan’s current captain Rashid Khan, who led his side from the front, praised Nabi for helping him and other spin bowlers. Rashid also dedicated his Player of the Match award to his former skipper.
“Legend Nabi had his last game, he’s helped us a lot and I thank him for his contribution to Afghanistan. I would like to dedicate this Man of the Match award to him,” Rashid said at the post-match presentation.

Afghanistan have registered their second Test win in just their third Test match.
They are the joint quickest team to the landmark, equalling Australia who picked up their second Test victory all the way back in 1879.#BANvAFG pic.twitter.com/ko3BoULhbj

Just brilliant from Afghanistan. Had 18.3 overs to get 4 wickets with 2 batsmen and did it with overs to spare. Magnificent game for @rashidkhan_19 but how good was everyone else. Their great story continues.
