The first T20I of the three-match series between Australia and Sri Lanka turned out to be a no-contest, with the hosts thrashing the tourists by 134 runs in Adelaide.
Batting first, Australia blasted 233-2 from their 20 overs with opener David Warner scoring his maiden T20I hundred and Aaron Finch (64) and Glenn Maxwell (62) making excellent contributions.
While Warner was the star of the show with an unbeaten 100 off 56 balls, Maxwell played some eye-catching shots as well during his 28-ball innings that was laced with seven fours and three sixes.
One-shot in particular – off seamer Kasun Rajitha in the 18th over – stood out among the rest. Staying deep in his crease, Maxwell whipped a full-length delivery over the mid-wicket fence with a twirl of the wrists, reminiscent of the ‘helicopter’ shot made famous by India wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni.
