Legendary Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble turned 49 on Thursday, and his fans and colleagues from the field are pouring love for him on different social media platforms.
On Twitter, thousands of greetings poured in for the former India coach, who till date is remembered as one of the greatest bowlers of all time.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on their official Instagram, wished ‘Jumbo’ with a video rounding up his most iconic spells in Test cricket.
In February 1999, at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, Kumble got his name etched in record books when he became just the second bowler after England’s Jim Laker to take all ten wickets in a Test inning. He dismissed all the Pakistani batsmen in the second innings and helped India win the match by 212 runs.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) did not stay behind and shared a throwback picture of a happy Kumble on the pitch.
Happy birthday Anil Kumble!
