On the third day of the Vizag Test, Indian skipper Virat Kohli displayed his tactical brilliance in the 27th over bowled by Ishant Sharma.
Following Kohli’s advice, Ishant angled one from outside the off stump, which kept low and came in to nip the Proteas vice-captain Temba Bavuma on the back pad.
Without any hesitation, the umpire raised his finger and Bavuma had to walk back to the pavilion on 18.
“Virat Kohli was just having a word with Ishant Sharma just before the ball. (It seems like he is telling him to) just get the ball to come back in from outside the off stump,” the commentator was heard saying.

Coming back to the match, South Africa lost only Bavuma’s wicket in the first session while they lost skipper Faf du Plessis in the post-lunch session.
At the end of the day’s play, the visitors were 385/8 in reply to India’s massive first innings total of 502/7 (declared). Opener Dean Elgar and wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock scored 160 and 111 runs respectively.
