A fan on Saturday dodged the security personnel at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium during the ongoing second Test between India and South Africa and made his way on to the playing area.
The fan came to Rohit Sharma, who was standing at the slips and tried to touch the opener’s feet. The incident occurred when Vernon Philander walked in to bat after the dismissal of Senuran Muthusamy.
With Rohit falling on the ground, it almost gave away the impression that the fan “speared” the Nagpur-born cricketer. While the Indian players saw the funny side of it, one person who was unimpressed with it was Sunil Gavaskar, who, on-air, lashed out at the security personnel for letting it happen.

Another Test, another pitch invader!
This one made a beeline for @ImRo45 , and tried to kiss his feet…
Pune cops far more alert than Visakhapatnam, mind you…
Taken him down the tunnel that leads to the kennels 👀#IndvSA pic.twitter.com/s5qXsO65zr

Keeping Fan Moments aside, Security should have been better. This can be injurious to players.
