IND vs SA 2nd Test: WATCH – Ravichandran Ashwin stuns Quinton de Kock with a magical delivery

The third day of the second and penultimate Test between India and South Africa was headlined by Ravichandran Ashwin’s four-wicket haul along with Proteas tail’s resistance.

While the day ended with South Africa bundled out for 275, trailing India by a humongous margin of 326 runs, the highlight moment was when Ashwin dismissed Quinton de Kock courtesy a ‘magical’ delivery.

It all happened on the last ball of the 38th over, just before the lunch break.

After being reduced to 53 for 5, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis and de Kock added an important 75-run stand. But, it was broken by Ashwin’s magnificent delivery that got rid of the 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman.

Ashwin pitched the ball in the middle-stump line but it went onto clip de Kock’s off-stump. While Wriddhiman Saha and the close-in fielders began the celebrations, the Proteas left-hander remained in a state of shock on seeing his bails dislodged.

After losing their sixth wicket at 128, the tourists crumbled further at 162 for 8. However, it was a sedate 109-run ninth-wicket partnership between Keshav Maharaj (72) and Vernon Philander (44 not out) that stretched South Africa’s first innings to 275 all-out in 105.4 overs.
