On Day 3 of the first Test between India and South Africa, Ravindra Jadeja picked up the crucial wicket of Dean Elgar and became the fastest left-arm bowler to claim 200 wickets.
Jadeja completed his 200 Test wickets in 44 matches. The Indian all-rounder went past former Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath who claimed 200 wickets in 47 games.

Jadeja could have easily reached the feat in the first session of the third day, but wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha dropped a catch of Elgar. The left-hander later got-out after being brilliantly caught at the square leg boundary by Cheteshwar Pujara.
Other left-arm bowlers that follow Herath on the list are Mitchell Johnson (49 Tests), Mitchell Starc (50 Tests), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Wasim Akram (51 Tests).
Meanwhile, Jadeja had made his Test debut way back in 2012. Apart from his record in Test cricket, he also has 178 ODI wickets from 156 matches and 33 wickets in 44 T20Is.
