IPL 2020: Kings XI Punjab unveil the team’s new jersey and announce EbixCash as title sponsor

On Wednesday, IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) launched their new jersey for the forthcoming season. They have also announced EbixCash as their new title sponsor in a three-year deal.

The Mohali-based franchise also welcomed former India legend Anil Kumble as the Director of Cricket Operations for the twelfth edition of the league. To mark this momentous occasion and unveil the official jersey, Robin Raina, CEO EbixCash was present along with Satish Menon, CEO Kings XI Punjab, Arshad Nizam Shawl, Director and Co-founder of Alliance Advertising and Marketing and Kumble.

EbixCash will be seen on the front of the KXIP’s players’ jersey for the next three seasons of the cash-rich league.

“I hope that this partnership will grow from strength to strength, and with me coming on board to Kings XI, we will be able to achieve what Kings XI hasn’t been able to over the last 12 years,” said Kumble at the event in New Delhi.

“Silverware would be fantastic in the cupboard. I think this is what it was waiting for all these 12 years.”

Kings XI have also decided to withdraw their decision to trade Ravichandran Ashwin to the Delhi Capitals, with co-owner Ness Wadia citing a “rethink” by the board. However, it’s not been made clear yet whether Ashwin will be retained as the captain of the team after two seasons in charge.

Ashwin’s captaincy across the two seasons has been marked by the team getting off to a strong start early in the tournament, followed by an inexplicable drop in intensity and momentum as the competition approached its business end, with the team finishing in the bottom half on both occasions.
