IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals reveal their new Head Coach for next 3 years

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Rajasthan Royals, has roped in Andrew McDonald as their new head coach for a period of three years.

McDonald, who played just four Tests for Australia, has an impressive record as a coach. Under his coaching, Victoria clinched the Sheffield Shield in the 2016-17 season. He had also led Victoria to Australian cricket’s domestic treble last summer and helped them win the One Day Cup.

McDonald even guided Melbourne Renegades to their maiden Big Bash League (BBL) title last year.

He has earlier played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and was associated with the franchise before being removed during the sweeping changes in 2018.

After joining the Royals, McDonald said: “I’m delighted to join the Royals family. It’s a great honor to take on this responsibility.

“The Rajasthan Royals is a new, exciting challenge for me, and I can’t wait to get started working with our world-class players and coaches in one of the biggest sporting leagues in the world.”
