Hardik Pandya underwent surgery successfully in London for an acute lower-back injury that may force him out of action for a longer period.

“Surgery done successfully. Extremely grateful to everyone for your wishes. Will be back in no time! Till then miss me,” he wrote in his social media post on Saturday.

Many Indian fans were happy to hear about the news of Hardik’s successful surgery and wished him to come back stronger.

But, the Brazilian model and actress Izabelle Leite took a witty dig at her close friend. “did u do the surgery wearing the watch? hahahahaha,” she wrote in reply to Hardik’s tweet.

The 25-year-old Pandya played the T20I series against South Africa but was not picked for the ongoing Test series. He will miss the T20Is against Bangladesh and West Indies.

He is the second key member in the Indian team after premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah to suffer back issues. Bumrah has a stress fracture on his lower back and will travel to the United Kingdom to assess his injury.
