Priyanka Chopra reveals the name for her two current favourite cricketers

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a popular Indian actress and the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant, is a big fan of cricket.

“My father used to love cricket. So, whenever there was a tournament, we would watch it together. If I used to get up from my seat during the match, and an Indian player hit a six, I was made to keep standing for some time. Cricket was a big thing at my place. My uncle has played Ranji cricket so it’s kind of a mad cricket-loving family,” said Priyanka, when she recently appeared on Nerolac Cricket Live.

The gorgeous diva also recalled her wedding day when Team Bride and Team Groom played a cricket match.

“My cousins are cricket fans, so during my wedding as well, we played cricket by dividing everyone into Team Bride and Team Groom. Nick is a great baseball player, but the two sports are different, so obviously, Team Bride won the match!” added Priyanka.

Speaking to Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the ongoing India-South Africa Test in Visakhapatnam, the 37-year-old Priyanka also said Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are her current favourite cricketers as she personally knows both.

She went on to narrate an incident when her in-laws were cheering for England during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as Eoin Morgan & Co. locked horns against the Men in Blue. On the other hand, Priyanka was cheering for Kohli & Co. with her mother. India lost the match by 31 runs as the hosts ended the visitors’ unbeaten run in the tournament.

Well, Virat and Rohit are undeniably two of the most popular cricketers in the world. When these two bats together, cricket seems to be a much more beautiful game. While Rohit is always hailed as a batsman who has that extra one second to watch the ball compared to others, Kohli is a fine example of how fitness plays a vital role in enhancing the performance of an athlete. With all the shots in his repertoire, Kohli has been one of the most dominating batsmen in world cricket across formats.
