On Sunday (October 20), the first draft of England’s new eight-team city-based league, ‘The Hundred’ was held in London. Afghanistan’s spinner Rashid Khan was the first pick in the draft securing a contract worth £125,000 from Trent Rockets.
As per the rules, each team was allowed to pick only three overseas players. Several star cricketers were not picked, including Chris Gayle, Kagiso Rabada, and Lasith Malinga.
The inaugural season of the 100-ball competition is scheduled from July 17 to August 16 next year.
