Australia women’s wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy is known for her sense of humour, given that she was recently spotted showing off her dance moves during the Sri Lanka ODIs.
Alyssa married Australia men’s fast bowler Mitchell Starc in April 2016, after knowing him from the age of 9, when Mitch started as a wicketkeeper.
During the first match of the Women’s Big Bash League on Thursday, Sydney Sixers opener Alyssa was mic’ed up by the 7Cricket crew who are the official broadcasters of WBBL|05. At the same time, Mitchell moved into the commentary room, joining Lisa Sthalekar.
When another fellow commentator announced that Starc had joined them LIVE, the message was relayed to Alyssa in the middle as well. And she quipped that it was the ‘bring your husband to work day.’ This hilarious quip left Mitchell, Lisa, and another commentator in splits.
Here is the video:

Alyssa and Mitchell is only the third married couple to play Test cricket, after the English couple the Prideauxs (Roger and Ruth), in the 1950s to 1960, and the Sri Lankan de Alwis couple (Guy and Rasanjali), in the 1980s and 1990s.
