Australia announce playing XI for the Day-Night Test against Pakistan

Tim Paine-led Australia, which defeated Pakistan in the first Test by an innings and five runs is gearing-up for the Day-Night game to be played at the Adelaide Oval. As expected, Australia will go with an unchanged XI for the second and final Test.

Skipper Paine on Thursday reacted to the squad and in his statement said that James Pattinson and Cameron Bancroft would leave the side to play Sheffield Shield – a domestic first-class cricket competition of Australia.

Earlier, in the first Test, Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner scored centuries to help their side post a dominating total. Then, Mitchell Starc shattered the Pakistani batting unit along with Pat Cummins.

On Tuesday, Australia’s coach Justin Langer also hinted that there should be an unchanged squad for the upcoming Test.

“We haven’t had a good look at the wicket yet, but my gut feeling is we’ll probably go with the same XI,” said Langer.

Here’s the playing XI of Australia for the Day-Night Test:

David Warner, Joe Burns, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, Travis Head, Tim Paine (c, wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
