IND vs BAN 1st Test: WATCH – Ravichandran Ashwin’s peach to dismiss Mominul Haque

It was a memorable outing on Day 1 of the first Test against Bangladesh for India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who became the joint-quickest alongside Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan to take 250 Test wickets on home soil.

Ashwin also joined the likes of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in an elite list as he became only the third Indian bowler to complete the milestone. Ashwin bowled an absolute to pick up his 250th home Test wicket as he castled the Bangladeshi skipper Mominul Haque with an under-cutter.

Mominul, who came to bat after the dismissal of opener Imrul Kayes, was playing a gritty knock when Ashwin decided to bring the under-cutter into the play which outfoxed the newly appointed Bangladesh captain.

Ashwin pitched the ball outside the off-stump and Mominul decided to leave it considering it would turn away from him. However, with Ashwin bowling from around the wickets, the angle of the delivery helped the experienced campaigner rattling the stumps to send Mominum back to the pavilion.

Meanwhile, India continued their domination in the longest format of the game as they bundled the visitors out for a paltry 150 in their first innings.
