MS Dhoni to make comeback against Windies? India veteran bats in the nets after 128 days of World Cup semi-final

Wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni is not a part of the national team since India’s shocking loss to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semifinal.

As soon as the ICC event ended in July, Dhoni decided to take a sabbatical from the game. Since then, he has missed the series against West Indies, South Africa, and Bangladesh. And it looks like the veteran stumper would finally return to action sooner rather than later.

India is currently playing the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Their next limited-overs assignment is against the Windies. The Men in Blue will play three T20Is and as many ODIs against the Caribbean in December. And the way Dhoni has ramped up his training in recent times, it looks like he will make his return to international cricket next month.

Dhoni started working on his fitness a couple of months ago and has now started batting in the nets too.

After 128 days of the World Cup semifinal, the legendary cricketer was seen having a few hits in the nets at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.

The fans, meanwhile, are desperate to see Dhoni on the field, especially after Rishabh Pant’s recent struggles with the bat as well as gloves. The fans chanted Dhoni’s name every time Pant made a mistake during the recently concluded T20I series against Bangladesh.
