Virat Kohli became the first Indian batsman to smash a ton in Pink Ball Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
In the process, the Indian skipper scored his 27th Test century. Kohli reached the landmark with a double off left-arm spinner Taijul Islam in the 68th over. He completed his hundred off 159 balls, which was laced with 12 fours.
Kohli came out in the middle when India were 43/2 after losing both the openers – Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma -early. The captain first put up a 94-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara (55) and followed it with a 99 runs stand with Ajinkya Rahane (51).
After bowling Bangladesh out for a paltry 106 in their first innings, India in response have already posted a lead of 183 till lunch on Day 2.

Another classy century. 27. In the same number of innings it took Tendulkar. Kohli idolises Tendulkar, he is, literally, following in his footsteps

Kohli’s march to all-time greatness continues uninterrupted. Weak opponents, sure, but a century does not come as a gift. And what an amazing converion rate!
