A one-handed stunner from South Australia’s Cameron Valente robbed Victoria batsman Peter Handscomb of a century during the 20th match of the Marsh One Day Cup 2019-20.
Handscomb was approaching to his well-deserving ton when a diving, Superman-esque effort from Valente at mid-off dismissed the Victorian for 87 off 75.
Valente ran metres to his left and leaped with one hand outstretched to take one of the best catch of the season.
Cricket fans were stunned by the athletic feat, while Fox Sports commentator Mark Howard described it as ‘very, very special’.
“You will not see a better catch than that,” Howard said on air.
“Valente takes to the sky like superman without the cape. One-handed brilliance.
“And Handscomb shakes his head and says ‘how can I be out?’.”
