WATCH: Prithvi Shaw’s ‘My bat does the talking’ celebration after smashing fifty against Assam #MushtaqAliT20

After serving an eight-month suspension, youngster Prithvi Shaw announced his comeback with a bang. On Sunday (November 17), Shaw smashed 63 off 39 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes in the T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.

Playing against Assam in Round 7, Shaw’s fiery fifty helped Mumbai to post 206/5 in 20 overs. While chasing the massive target, Assam finished at 123/8, losing the match by 83 runs.

Back in July, BCCI banned the 20-year-old for eight months after they found him guilty of violating the anti-dope norms. Shaw was ineligible to participate in any form of competitive cricket till November 15.

“The eight-month period of Ineligibility will be deemed to have started to run on March 16 2019, so that it will end at midnight on November 15 2019,” read the BCCI statement.

Shaw celebrated his half-century in a unique style, gesturing to the crowd that his bat will do the talking.

With 24 points, Mumbai is at the top spot of the points table in Group D and will proceed to the Super League.
