ICC Test Rankings: Virat Kohli retains top spot, Babar Azam breaks into top 10

Indian captain Virat Kohli has retained his top position in the latest released ICC Test Rankings while Pakistan’s Babar Azam has reached the Top-10 for the first time. Thanks to his unbeaten knock of 102 against Sri Lanka, Babar has moved from 13th to 9th position.

He’s also No.1 in T20I rankings and holds the third spot in ODI rankings.

Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne continued his dream run with the bat against New Zealand, scoring 143 and 50 in the Perth Test and, therefore, has entered into Top-5. He overtook his countryman David Warner to gain the fifth spot.

New Zealand’s Ross Taylor has jumped five places to reach 11th position.

Abid Ali of Pakistan, who recently scored his maiden Test hundred against Sri Lanka, has also entered in the Test rankings and is placed at the 78th position.

Among bowlers, Australia’s Pat Cummins and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada have retained their first and second spots, respectively, whereas Kiwi pacer Neil Wagner has acquired the third spot.

Mitchell Starc, meanwhile, has moved up to the 5th position.

Also, Blackcaps speedster Tim Southee has entered into Top-10 and has jumped from 13th to 10th position.

Nathan Lyon has also gained two spots to reach the 19th spot.

Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Kumara has acquired 36th rank, whereas Shaheen Afridi from Pakistan has gained two places to achieve the 47th position.
