‘Will RCB win IPL 2020? Dale Steyn responds to the fan’s query in his trademark style

There is no doubt that Dale Steyn is a once-in-a-generation bowler. The South African speedster has bamboozled batsmen around the world for fun whether it is Test cricket or limited-overs form of the game.

In his prime, Steyn was the first man locked in as far as the playing 11 was concerned. But, in the past two-three years, injuries have taken its toll on Steyn.

The champion fast bowler, who also happens to be South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in Test cricket, has missed a lot of cricket due to unrelenting injuries. Therefore, during the large part of the IPL 2020 auction day, it once looked like there will be no takers for Steyn; no one was willing to risk their money on an injury-prone fast bowler, and so Steyn – to the utter disappointment of his fans – went unsold in the initial rounds of the auction.

But, then Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – a side Steyn represented in both the inaugural as well as the previous addition – decided to bank on their former spearhead and struck gold at the fast bowler’s base price of Rs 2 crore.

Dale Steyn replies to whether RCB will win IPL 2020

Representing Cape Town Blitz in the second season of the recently concluded Mzansi Super League (MSL), Steyn ended the tournament as the third-highest wicket-taker on the back of dismissing 15 batsmen at an average of 15.13, an economy rate of 7.09 and a strike rate of 12.8.

Recently, Steyn conducted a question and answer round on his social media platform Twitter. Being asked about if RCB will win IPL 2020 or not, Steyn came up with an interesting answer to the fan’s query.

“I’m there, so, yeah!”
