BBL 09: WATCH – Chris Morris’ elite footwork to run out Daniel Hughes

Chris Morris’ fancy footwork stole the limelight during Sydney Thunder’s 4-run win over Sydney Sixers on Saturday.

Morris displayed elite football skills to run out Sixers’ lower-order batsman Daniel Hughes for just one run.

Hughes was at the non-striker’s end when Morris was bowling to Josh Philippe and tried to get a quick single but ended trapped in the middle of the crossroad allowing the Proteas all-rounder to run-out the batsman. Morris just kicked the ball with his foot from quite a distance onto the stumps to execute one of the best run-outs of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL).

The Sydney derby was a rain-curtailed affair as showers stopped the match twice, and the officials had to reduce the game to 16 overs aside. Sixers were bowled out for 76 with one ball to spare. Morris was the architect of destruction picking up two wickets for 12 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

In reply, Thunder scored 28 runs for two wickets in 5.3 overs before they were declared the winner via DLS method.
