Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne will come out of retirement for a Bushfire Cricket Bash match scheduled to be played on February 8, 2020.
Cricket Australia, on Tuesday, added international touch to the much-awaited charity match by announcing that batting legend Sachin Tendulkar will coach Ponting XI. And bowling legend Courtney Walsh will train Warne XI for a game that will be a curtain-raiser for the Big Bash League final.
As expected, Ponting took to Twitter and welcomed Tendulkar as the coach of his team. The former Australia skipper, through his tweet, even made an indirect dig at his counterpart Warne.
“How great is it to have @sachin_rt taking part in the Bushfire Cricket Bash and giving up his time to come out for the cause. Picked the right team to coach too,” Ponting tweeted.

Responding to Ponting tweet, Tendulkar wrote: “Chose the right team and more importantly the right cause my friend. Hope that the Bushfire Cricket Bash will offer some relief to the people and wildlife in Australia.”
