As soon as a result of the 23rd game in the ongoing U19 World Cup came out, it revealed the name of the eighth team who will play in the quarter-finals. It was a clash between South Africa and the UAE, where the hosts got better of their opponent.

The Proteas, after winning the toss, opted to bat first against Aryan Lakra-led side and posted a humongous score of 299-8 in the 50 overs. Skipper Bryce Parsons guided from the front and smashed 84 runs. Middle-order batsman Luke Beaufort supported his skipper, and the duo added a 152-run stand. Luke got out after scoring 85.

In reply, the UAE started pretty bad as they lost three wickets on 65. But then Figy John and Kai Smith acted maturely and held their consecutive ends. Both the batters took their team to 112 in 24 overs before rain stopped play.

At that moment, South Africa were 23 runs ahead as per the DLS method. In the end, they won the contest and reached the quarter-finals.
