Chennai Super Kings had a sensational run in the last two years of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After winning the 2018 title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), they finished as the runner-ups losing to Mumbai Indians (MI) by just one run in IPL 2019.
CSK is the only team in the IPL to qualify for the playoffs in all the seasons they have played. The consistency in their performances ensures they are among the top favorites to win the title every year.
For this year’s IPL, the Super Kings have retained most of their players, and have bought Piyush Chawla, Josh Hazlewood, Sam Curran and R Sai Kishore in the auction. MS Dhoni will continue to lead the side with Suresh Raina as his deputy.
