England sealed their biggest away win in more than nine years in the third Test against South Africa to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
Needing four wickets on the fifth day, the visitors bundled out the Proteas for 237 to seal victory by an innings and 53 runs.
From 102/6 overnight, still 188 short of making England bat again, South Africa’s margin of defeat would have been even greater if No. 8 Keshav Maharaj would not have scored 71.
In a record 10th-wicket partnership of 99 with Dane Paterson, Maharaj at one stage took 45 runs from 14 deliveries.
Maharaj was the last man to be dismissed as he attempted a single to mid-on, failing to beat a Sam Curran throw that hit the non-striker’s stumps directly.

From 0-1 to 2-1, magnificent effort from England especially from the young guns like Dom Bess, Ollie Pope and experience of Ben Stokes. Lots of things to be happy for this Joe Root lead England team. #SAvENG
