Virat Kohli-led Team India made the 71st Republic Day more joyous for their country as they thumped New Zealand in the second T20I at Eden Park in Auckland.
On January 26, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Black Caps managed to post 132/5 on the board. Indian bowlers had a turn around from the last game and choked the Kiwi batsmen throughout the innings. Opener Martin Guptill (33 off 20) and wicketkeeper Tim Seifert (33 off 26) were the top scorers for the hosts, whereas Ravindra Jadeja picked two wickets for the Indian team.
In the run chase, KL Rahul made unbeaten 57, and Shreyas Iyer scored 44 runs propelling India to victory with seven wickets in hand.
