England ended their triumphant Test tour of South Africa on a rousing high, registering a 191-run win at the Wanderers n Johannesburg to clinch the series 3-1.
Joe Root’s brigade backed the hosts into a corner over the first three days – 465 runs behind and with six entire sessions in front of them – then finished the job by dismissing them for 274.
The Proteas showed some fight, notably in the form of Rassie van der Dussen’s 98, but England’s pace attack was too strong, Mark Wood picked up four more wickets to complete a match haul of nine for 100.
Brief scores: England 400 (Zak Crawley 66; Anrich Nortje 5-110) & 248 (Joe Root 58; Beuran Hendricks 5-64) beat South Africa 183 (Quinton de Kock 76; Mark Wood 5-46) & 274 (Rassie van der Dussen 98; Wood 4-54) by 191 runs.

Eng absolutely brilliant to win 3-1 after losing the 1st game
Mark Wood has been spectacular & England can be very proud of the way they fought, South Africa though have a lot to answer & Philander is going to be a huge void to fill

This is the first time since 1950 South Africa have lost consecutive home series'.
It's going to get worse before it gets better I suppose.
But it will get better. #SAvENG

Unlike Ashes, it was a total team effort, each and everyone had contributed from the England side from openers to fast bowlers to spinners. This is not easy especially they just dominated the opposition at their home. #SAvENG
