India defeated Sri Lanka by 78 runs in the third and final T20I at the MCA Stadium in Pune, to clinch the three-match series 2-0.
Navdeep Saini claimed three wickets while Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur picked up two wickets apiece to bundle out Sri Lanka for just 123 in 15.5 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah, who picked up a wicket in the first over, became the leading wicket-taker in the shortest format for India, going past Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Earlier, India posted a mammoth total of 201 for six after Shikhar Dhawan, and KL Rahul laid the foundation with a 97-run opening partnership. Late flourish Manish Pandey (31 off 19) and Shardul (22 off 8) helped India to a mammoth total on a batting-friendly surface.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
Well played India, but frankly no contest as Sri Lanka found wanting in all departments

Shardul Thakur is making most of the limited opportunities coming his way. Some crucial runs. Wickets. And while there’s a lot of cricket left today, I’m already picking him as my Man of the Match…i.e. if India wins. #IndvSL

Dhananjaya de Silva sparkled with a fine half-century, but that couldn't keep India from securing a crushing 78-run win. The home team's fast bowlers were too good! They take the series 2-0!#INDvSL pic.twitter.com/n2h8egU71e
