Indian captain Virat Kohli is known for scoring tons of runs and breaking the records irrespective of any format of the game. Kohli achieved another rare landmark when he became the quickest to reach 11,000 international runs as a captain. The right-hander became the second Indian and sixth international skipper to complete the 11,000-run mark.
Kohli grasped the milestone in the 13th over after taking a single off Lakshan Sandakan. The Delhi-born accomplished the achievement in 196 innings surpassing former Australia captain Ricky Ponting who did this in 252 innings.
Other captains who hold a similar distinction are Stephen Fleming, MS Dhoni, Alan Border, and Graeme Smith.
