Year-wise breakdown of Virat Kohli’s international runs in last decade (2010-19)

In the last ten years, cricket has witnessed a lot of changes – three world champions in 50-overs format, the beginning of ICC World Test Championship, Pink ball Tests, the introduction of the Decision Review System in limited-overs cricket, etc.

Teams have had mixed fortunes in the last decade in all three formats of the game with the likes of Australia, India, England, and New Zealand competing hard to become the numero uno team in world cricket.

Quite a few players have also made their mark during this time, while many haven’t been able to live up to expectations.

But there is one player who has dominated world cricket like no other in the last ten years.

The emergence of current India captain Virat Kohli in the last decade has been incredible. The Delhi-born cricketer turned his career around to become the most prolific run-scorer in all three formats combined in the 2010s.

No other player in the history of the game has managed to score as many runs in a decade than Virat Kohli. The 31-year-old’s numbers are mind-boggling, to say the least.

Kohli closed the year 2019 with a gritty 85 against West Indies, leading India to a series win in the three-match ODI series. He amassed 20,960 runs from 386 international matches in the last ten years.
