For his aggressive batting style, Afridi was popularly known as ‘Boom Boom’ – a nickname given to him by former Indian cricketer and current Team India coach Ravi Shastri.
Apart from his batting, Afridi always believed he was a better bowler. He has 48 and 395 wickets in Tests and ODIs, whereas in T20Is, he stands second with 98 wickets in 99 matches.
Afridi also holds the record for most ‘Player of the Match’ awards in T20Is. He retired from international cricket in 2017.
