Former New Zealand cricketer-turned-commentator has heaped praise for star Indian batsman Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Smith called the dynamic duo as two of the most beautiful batsmen in the world currently.

Further, Smith lavished also praises for the Indian bowling lineup and stated that this is by far the best Indian bowling attack which visited the shores of New Zealand.

“Two of the most beautiful batsmen I can think of in the current era are Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli,” claimed Smith.

Also, the popular commentator predicted that skipper Kohli would smash a couple of big knocks in the upcoming two-match Test series in New Zealand.

“I expect VK to score one- maybe two- very big innings in the Test series,” Smith quoted in a daily. Virat and Rohit currently hold the top two spots at the ICC Men’s Batting ranking in ODIs.

Opening the innings in Test cricket, Rohit finally has cemented his spot in the whites for India. The duo forms the mainstay of batting at the top order, in all three formats of the game.

Also, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, along with Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, form the core of Indian pace battery in Test cricket.

The Indian pacers have dominated world cricket in the last few years. Smith even went on the record to state,” This is the best Indian team – with regards to bowling attack – that case comes to NZ.”

India meets New Zealand for the Test leg of the tour, starting February 21 at Basin Reserve in Wellington. The second Test match will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on February 21.

India white-washed the Kiwis 5-nil in the T20Is. But the Black Caps came back and returned India the favor by white-washing them in ODIs by 3-0. India is currently on top of the table in ICC World Test Championship.
