List of players from the U19 World Cup who will feature in IPL 2020

The young Indian colts did not harm their reputation of dominating world cricket at the Under 19 level, in the recently concluded ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa.

Defending champions, India, remained unbeaten until the finals of the multilateral tournament before they lost to Bangladesh in the heated contest.

With Ranji Trophy at its final round, there’s not much to look forward to in the season for the majority of the Indian squad which participated in the U19 World Cup, barring the ones featuring in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Here’s a list of Indian U19 players who will participate in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league:

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Man of the series, with 400 runs scored in the U19 tournament, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been earmarked to be the next big thing in Indian cricket.

During the recent IPL auction, Jaiswal went to Rajasthan Royals for a whopping amount of 2.4 crores. It will be a toss between Robin Uthappa and Jaiswal for the opening slot.

Ravi Bishnoi

With 17 scalps in the tournament, Bishnoi, for some, is already in contention of being fast-tracked into the senior side. Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab was quick to bag the services of leggie in the auction, offering him an amount of two crores.

However, his chances of featuring in the XI frequently looks bleak, with six other spinners waiting for an opportunity in the squad.

Priyam Garg

The Indian captain displayed immense composure in the tournament as he is one for the future in the Indian batting reserves.

Sunrisers Hyderabad offered an amount of 1.9 crores for the services of Priyam Garg. Albeit, his chances to feature in the XI regularly look far-fetched in the star-studded lineup.

Kartik Tyagi

The pacer who impressed the most in the tournament, Kartik Tyagi, will be donning the pink of Royals’ in this edition of the tournament after the Mohali-based franchise bagged his services for an amount of 1.3 crores.

Akash Singh

The seven wickets he picked in the tournament caused a stir in Indian cricketing fraternity. Following their model of investing in youngsters, Akash will also feature for the Rajasthan Royals. He was picked at his base price of Rs 20 lakhs in the 2020 IPL auction.
