Team India defeated New Zealand in the T20I game played at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday to clean sweep the five-match series.
KL Rahul, who performed outstandingly, was rewarded for his performance with the ‘Player of the Series’ award.
During the match, one thing which caught everyone’s attention was New Zealand players who were spotted with pink colors applied on their faces.
It looked like the players were wearing sunscreen, however, that wasn’t the case.
The pink color was a mark of support for the White Ferns – the New Zealand women’s team – ahead of their T20 World Cup campaign, which starts from February 22, where they will meet Sri Lanka at Perth.
The official sponsors of New Zealand Cricket, ANZ, has requested the fans to either visit their branch to pick up the free zinc or use the supporter filter on Facebook.
The official Twitter handle of the New Zealand team tweeted about it during the fifth and final encounter.
