Indian speedster Ishant Sharma has given an update on his ankle injury. The 31-year-old, on Twitter, posted a picture of himself with Ashish Kaushik – Head Physiotherapist National Cricket Academy (NCA) – confirming that he has recovered and completely fit.

“It was a roller coaster ride for me after the injury on my ankle on the 20th January but with the help of Ashish Kaushik I managed to pull it off! Scans were a little scary, but today I am happy that I am fit! Thanks Ashish Kaushik! #recoverymode #recovery #postinjury,” tweeted Ishant.

Ishant had suffered an injury to his right ankle during a Ranji Trophy game between Delhi and Vidarbha last month. He had twisted his ankle while appealing for an LBW decision; thereafter, he was taken off the field. Since then, the Delhi-born cricketer has been in Bengaluru, recuperating with physio Ashish at the NCA.

Earlier, Ishant was included in the 16-man squad for the New Zealand’s tour, with his participation subject to fitness clearance. The Virat Kohli-led team will face the Kiwis in the opening game of the two-match Test series on February 21 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
