New Zealand made mincemeat of India in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday. After facing the 5-0 defeat in the T20Is, the hosts came back strongly and whitewashed the visitors in the three-match ODI series.

The likes of Henry Nicholls, Ross Taylor, and KL Rahul were some noteworthy names who shined in the series. Rahul smashed his career’s fifth hundred and played a crucial role in his team’s total of 296.

During his innings, the Karnataka-born was seen having a word with the Black Caps all-rounder James Neesham. Initially, it appeared as if the duo got involved in a physical altercation; however, in the end, it looked like a friendly banter.

Known for his sense of humor, Neesham saw a funny side in his on-field incident with Rahul and tweeted about it. He shared a picture of himself with the Indian wicket-keeper and captioned it as “Paper, scissors, rock.”

Neesham also appreciated his Kings XI Punjab skipper for his batting brilliance shown in the third ODI and appealed to save some runs for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

India will now face New Zealand XI in the 3-day practice match starting from February 14, before the start of the two-match Test series, which will begin from February 21 at Basin Reserve in Wellington.
