Cricket South Africa (CSA) named their 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia.
Janneman Malan retained his place in the One-day set up as a reserve batsman while former skipper Faf du Plessis has again been left out of the side.
Kyle Verrynne’s inclusion as a backup wicketkeeper-batsman is the other prominent change in the squad as Heinrich Klaasen comes in for pacer Bjorn Fontuin, swapping from the England ODI series.
After impressing in white-ball cricket during the last T20I match against Australia at Port Elizabeth, pacer Anrich Nortje is included to bolster the pace-battery.
The other red-ball bowler being tried at the limited-overs format is the orthodox left-arm spin of Keshav Maharaj, who comes in for Sisada Mangala.
The opening match between South Africa and Australia will be played at Boland Park in Paarl on February 29. The subsequent games will be played at Bloemfontein and Potchefstroom on March 4 and March 7, respectively.
