One of the prominent international superstars who took part in this year’s edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is South Africa’s speedster, Dale Steyn.

Steyn, who represented the Islamabad United this season, was asked about his favourite cricketer and his bunny in International cricket recently in an interview.

‘The Steyn Gun’ named his fellow countryman AB de Villiers as his favourite cricketer, and tagged him as an ‘incredible batter and a ‘good friend.’

The mutual respect they both share on the field was pretty evident during one of the editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The two Protean legends represented different franchises, and the much-anticipated duel finally took place when Royal Challengers Bangalore met Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.

De Villiers’, using his 360-degree range, smacked Steyn to all parts of the ground during an over where the latter conceded 24 runs.

Later, Steyn acknowledged his colleagues’ batting attributes by giving a hug and a pat on his helmet. It remains one of the iconic moments in the history of IPL.

Then the pacer was asked about his bunny in international cricket. Steyn had no hesitation in taking the name of Pakistan veteran Mohammad Hafeez, who had no idea how to deal with the movement and pace of Steyn over the years.

Steyn had the better of Hafeez on as many as 15 occasions in all forms of cricket. Many claims have been made back in Pakistan about Hafeez’s Steynophobia. The two met again in PSL 2020 when Lahore Qaladandars competed with Islamabad United.
