With the situation around the world looking sombre due to Covid-19 outbreak, a piece of good news greeted England’s ODI and T20I captain Eoin Morgan as he and his wife Tara became parents to a baby boy.
The news was confirmed on Wednesday by Tara via her Instagram handle after she posted an adorable picture of her son. Tara also revealed the name of the baby in her post by writing ‘Leo Louis Oliver Morgan 9th March 2020’.
The beautiful couple tied the knot in November 2018, and months after the wedding, Morgan led England to their first-ever World Cup ICC World Cup triumph.
Morgan met Tara in 2010 when the English cricketer was playing Ashes against Australia. Tara belongs to Adelaide and is now settled in London. She works as a public relations representative for fashion house Burberry.
During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction, Morgan was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 5.25 crore. The England skipper has quite a bit of experience of playing in the league, as he had played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2010 IPL season.
From a period of 2011 to 2013, Morgan featured for the KKR, then in 2014, the left-handed batsman decided not to play the cash-rich league in 2014, but for the next two years, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the 2017 IPL Auction, Morgan was picked by Kings XI Punjab, then in 2018, he went unsold, and due to the World Cup, he opted out from IPL 2019 auction. Overall, the 33-year-old has played 52 IPL matches in which he has accumulated 854 runs.
