Australia claimed their fifth Women’s T20 World Cup, destroying India by 85 runs in front of 86,174 spectators at the MCG on Sunday, March 08.
They began the tournament in shaky fashion, but the Aussies saved their best for last with a clinical all-round performance against a shellshocked Indian side playing in their first final.
Brief Score: Australia 184 for 4 (Beth Mooney 78*, Alyssa Healy 75, Deepti Sharma 2-38) beat India 99 all out (Deepti Sharma 33, Megan Schutt 4-18, Jess Jonassen 3-20) by 85 runs.
