Under a new captain and new coaching staff, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will once again hunt their maiden title victory in the upcoming season of IPL. With 80 wins and 94 defeats, KXIP is next to Delhi Capitals in the list of most underperforming teams.

In 2018, Punjab was the most dominant team in the first half and despite winning five matches at the halfway stage, failed to qualify for the second round. In 2019, they only managed six wins and lost eight games.
