IPL shares MS Dhoni’s photo to spread awareness on Coronavirus

The Indian Premier League (IPL), on Tuesday, shared a photo of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni, to aware fans of the coronavirus.

The deadly Covid-19 has gripped all the countries across the globe. The entire world has been shut down. As a result, all the sporting eventing have either been canceled or postponed.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the BCCI also postponed the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Though earlier, the board had planned to conduct the tournament after April 15, with the number of coronavirus cases in India crossing 500, this seems impossible.

In these testing times, the official Twitter handle of IPL posted a candid picture of India’s World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni, urging everyone to stay at home.

“Stay Home Stay safe you guys,” IPL’s tweet read.

The motive of posting this picture is to educate people about the importance of staying home amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

On the professional front, MSD was last seen on the field during the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. He was expected to make a return to the Indian team after the IPL 2020.

According to head coach Ravi Shastri, Dhoni’s performance for CSK in the IPL will decide his future in the Indian team. However, this is still not confirmed if BCCI would be hosting the IPL this year or not. Therefore, Dhoni’s position in the national team is uncertain.
